Zuu: Is this the most challenging workout ever?
Created by Australian fitness guru Nathan Helberg, ZUU is a form of high intensity interval training (HIIT) that uses movements from the animal kingdom. The workout initially found its footing in the world of elite athletes, tactical police and the armed forces — where weights and machines aren't easily accessible. ZUU uses seven primal and natural human movements for a full body workout: push, pull, bend, twist, squat, lunge, locomotion.
The animal theme comes from the likeness of the movements to particular creatures and exercises: bear crawl, frog squat, donkey kick for example. ZUU uses 30 animal movements in total and mixes them with bodyweight exercises for muscle, aerobic and anaerobic work. It is perfect for all abilities and ages as it can be tailored as necessary to increase or decrease the difficulty.
